LOL Day- I Was Just Like You

It's hard to believe, but one year ago (almost to the day believe it or not) I was just like you.  I wasn't a blogger, heck I didn't even have the nerve to make a comment.  I was a lurker.  

I was exploring.  I would read my favorite blogs, and try to learn from their experiences.  No pressure.  It was pretty swell, actually.  Lurking is awesome, and you are awesome for doing it.  Even if you don't say anything I know you are there, and it feels incredible to feel like someone is listening.  Sometimes that's all you need to get through a rough time.  Thank you for being my someone to listen.  Your very presence has helped me on this crazy trip my life has taken over the past year.  For that I am very grateful.

 It's pretty awesome to get to read your favorite blogs with no pressure.  I know I used to read blogs like Rogue's, Stormy's, and Willie's , but I would never comment.  I thought of them, and many others, like celebrities.  Now I get to call them my friends.  Now I get to not only hear their stories, I get to be a part of them.  The best part of opening up was all the friends I've made.

Now, I know what you are thinking.  Well more precisely, I know what I was thinking when I was in your shoes.  The thoughts go something like this:

I don't have anything to contribute. Sure you do.  You don't need to do anything more than be you and say hi to be a part of this community.  We are very welcoming, and you can never have enough friends.  Anything you want to share is more than enough of a contribution.  

Who cares what I have to say? I do, and I'm just one of many.  I know it can be difficult when you think no one cares or is listening, but I promise that's not true.  Look at you guys!  You care and are listening to me, and probably a whole host of other bloggers.  We want to do the same for you.  Trust me!

I'm scared!  I know you are!  That first time pushing the publish button is intimidating.  But, you know what?  The second time is easier.  The time after that is even easier still.  Starting to comment, or even starting a blog of your own reminds me of a scene from one of my favorite movies, The Princess Diaries.  Yep, I love kids movies... so no worries.  There is no judgement here.

Today is a great day to live a little.  I started my blog last LOL day, and I haven't regretted it for a minute.  I hope this LOL day will bring as many wonderful friends as the last one did.  I would love to get to know the wonderful people who have been a silent part of my life.  I encourage you to take a big deep breath, and push the publish button.  I want to hear your thoughts, as you have heard mine.  Please say hello.  Even if you are too shy to say anything know that you are welcomed and appreciated here.
